SCRABBLE HAS GOTTEN down with the kids and updated its dictionary with thousands of internet-friendly phrases.
You will now be able to play words like ‘lolz’, ‘tuneage’ and ‘ridic’, much to the chagrin of your parents and more pedantic loved ones.
Board games are the number one cause of family meltdowns, but the arguments are always the same.
1. The classic Scrabble squabble:
Your brother gets cheeky and puts down ‘za’ on a triple word score, and your mam nearly rips the Scrabble board in half when she finds out it’s allowed. Every time.
2. A debate on every rule in Trivial Pursuit
Do they deserve the piece of pie, or do they not? You say not, obviously.
3. “That doesn’t even LOOK like a dog!”
Only during a game of Pictionary is it acceptable to roar at your other half over their complete lack of creativity or imagination.
4. Accusations of greed during Monopoly
They didn’t raise the rent as a slight on you specifically. Your family is just playing the game.
But in the Monopoly mindset, everything is a grievous offence.
5. “I WANT TO BE THE TOP HAT.”
And the game is over before it has even begun.
